The museum will be open all summer-long, starting on June 15th 2010. We will be glad to welcome you all !
After the success of the « Lighthouses and Beacons » exhibition, the Heritage Museum offers this year a new exhibition entitled:
« Heritage Museum at
the Movies ... »
(« Le Musée Héritage fait son cinéma...
»)
The Museum
First opened in 2003,
The Heritage Museum is the creation of a private collector
with one desire: To share his passion and enthusiasm for
the history of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon.
Over 30 years in the making,
this valuable collection is currently housed in a
historical building that dates back 100 years. When unique
and authentic collectibles are acquired, The Heritage
Museum determines with great care if they should be added
to the current exhibit or held for future showcases and
special exhibits.
The Heritage Museum permanent collection takes up over 1500
square feet expanding into over ten different theme rooms
showcasing the history of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon islands
during the 19th century.
The prime objective of The Heritage Museum is to protect
our heritage and preserve these witnesses of our past. Our
collections are a memorial to our ancestors and their
forgotten traditions.
